Update Planning a resumption of Group walks
The advice as of yesterday, 26 March 2021, from the Ramblers national site states:
The UK government roadmap for lifting lockdown means people in England will be allowed to walk outside in groups of six or two households, from Monday 29 March.
It has also been confirmed by the UK government that organised sport and physical activity, which include Ramblers group walks, can also resume from the 29 March, and are exempt from legal gathering limits. Ramblers volunteer activities will also be able to take place once again.
For now, you must continue to stay local and avoid non-essential travel. You must not travel to Scotland or Wales.
Therefore, we are able to resume group walks as of Monday 29 March 2021. Alan has already planned a walk for Wednesday 31 March 2021 details of which can be found on our Walks page.
If you are able to lead a walk please contact one of the Walk Collectors here or contact Yvonne Ashby.
Thank you!

Planning a resumption of Group walks
The advice as of today from the Ramblers national site states:
The UK government roadmap for lifting lockdown means people in England can walk outside in groups of six from Monday 29 March. We are working towards starting Ramblers organised walks and activities from Monday 12 April.
We are starting, as we normally do in March, to plan, collect, publish and distribute a walk programme for the second half of this year. Some of our walk leaders will be unable to participate in the short term so we are seeking new or lapsed walk leaders to get involved.
As far as walks to be organised after 12 April, we will publish them on our website and on the national website, as usual.
If you are able to lead a walk please contact one of the Walk Collectors here or contact Yvonne Ashby.
Thank you!

Call out for footpath walkers
For a variety of reasons I am short of wardens for Stanley, West Hallam and the western side of Ilkeston.
If you live or walk in these areas and would be willing to adopt walking some of the footpaths please contact Sara at footpathsec@erewashramblers.org.uk or call 07811811802.
While I am willing to walk as many paths as I can I cannot do them all. Help!

Committee Vacancies
We have a number of vacancies on the Committee at the moment which we would really like to fill as we move into spring and new hope to resume our activities.
The vacancies are:
- Countryside Secretary
- Holiday Co-ordinator
- Mondays Walk Collector
- Thursdays Walk Collector
Michael will be stepping down as Treasurer at the next Annual General Meeting in October/November so we must find a new Treasurer before then.
If you would like to discuss any of these roles and what they entail please contact Mark Slater.
