Unseasonable weather for June but still some spells of warm sunshine for the 21 walkers on this morning's walk from Mapperley Reservoir through Shipley Park including Shipley Hill, Derby Lodge, The Coppice, and the Visitor Centre - a heavy and prolonged shower gave everyone a good soaking on the return leg with an ominous rumble of thunder approaching the car park - post walk refreshments at the Newdigate Inn - thanks to Alan for leading and for the photos
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
