As with the previous Wednesday a good forecast but the early fog took time to clear leaving a blue sky spring day with warm sunshine for the group of 32 setting off from Trinity Farm in Cossall along the Nottingham and Erewash canals passing Ilkeston railway station on the way to the 'Iron Giant' Bennerley Viaduct with a crossing from the Derbyshire to Nottingham side using the new ramp just recently opened and passing the new - hopefully soon to be opened - cafe and visitor centre. We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
