Hopefully spring is not far away but after the seemingly endless rain of this winter the countryside is waterlogged and today's walk had to be shortened to avoid the worst of the water and mud. A good turnout of 31 on a very cold but thankfully dry morning for the walk in and around Draycott including the canal towpath with post walk refreshments in Pumpkinz tea room - thanks to Gordon for leading and Alan for the photos.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
