With the Met Office giving heavy rain for several hours from mid morning walk leader Alan was not expecting many to turn up at Victoria park this morning but 15 hardy souls set off on a slightly shortened walk taking in Straws Bridge, Manor Floods and the Nutbrook Trail in suprisingly good conditions with just light rain at times, followed by a visit to the nearby Newdigate Inn joined by several non walking members - photos by Alan.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
