Today's walk from Kirk Hallam taking in the Nutbrook Trail and canal and Pioneer Meadows on a bitterley cold day with a fresh northerly breeze adding to the chill factor suprisingly attracting 19 walkers led by Alan B on a dry morning with some mud underfoot but nothing too serious and with post walk refreshments at the Cat & Fiddle pub.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
