Today's Wednesday Walk, starting in the centre of Castle Donington and winding our way upto the perimeter of East Midlands Airport, celebrating its 60th birthday! A cool but bright morning saw 17 walkers, lead by Stephen B, take in the 4 miles, just about avoiding the chaos of the Wakes Week fair.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
