Today's walk was in aid of the MacMillan Cancer Support Charity. Somewhat spoiled by the morning downpours, but 13 hardy walkers (lead by Sheila and Gordon) squelched from Trent Lock to Long Eaton and back again. Huge thanks to Sue as hostess, and the other helpers and those that donated towards the MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
