Today's walk - Derek (thanks for leading the walk at short notice) lead 26 walkers (those who had negotiated the road closure!) from Dale Abbey across the fields to Pioneer Meadows and back again. The walk started sunny but the breeze freshened and the first spots of rain were felt as we neared the end. Post-walk refreshments at the Carpenters Arms.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
