Our walk today in the Shardlow area on a bright warm morning with a cooling breeze at times including a section of the River Trent path with a crossing via the Long Horse bridge near the confluence with the River Derwent and the Trent & Mersey Canal - plenty of narrowboats with some of them on the move and post walk refrehments at the canalside New Inn - thanks to Sandra for leading and Alan for the photos
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
