Today's walk - bright, sunny morning. No sign of the forecast rain. 12 walkers set off from the Old Market Square, Nottingham, for a 4-5 mile city walk. Stopping off to view the Exchange Dome, the new Broadmarsh park and library, the Canal, the Park and the Tunnel, the General Cemetery, the Arboretum and Forest Recreation Ground. Thanks to Anne for leading and providing a fascinating insight into the city and its history. Also welcome to new walkers, Pam, Irene and Mylene (apologies if I've got the names wrong!). We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
