HAPPY NATIONAL WALKING DAY!!! Bright, sunny morning accompanied by a cool wind. 22 walkers set off for a 3.5 mile ramble from Trent Lock, to walk along the river towards Sawley, then return across the golf course and down the Erewash Canal. Post-walk refreshments at the two pubs, Trent Lock and The Steamboat Inn. Thanks to Alan B for leading (again) and to Stephen B for the photos.
We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
