Today's walk from Trinity Farm in Awsworth taking in Bennerley Viaduct, the Erewash and Nottingham Canals and parts of Ilkeston and Cossall - a dull grey start with a little light drizzle gave way unexpectedly to a spell of bright sunshine around mid walk before descending back to a grey gloom in the latter stages - one highlight was a kingfisher flitting between branches along the canal bank. We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
